At Backstretch Chat you will find the inside scoop on the goings on behind the scenes of Thoroughbred horse racing. We will find out all the latest rumors in horse racing and provide them to you here.

Every trainer and jockey has his own patterns and habits which can only be identified by following them closely.  Why is a certain trainer use a particular jockey more than another? Why does a particular jockey suddenly abandon a mount for the next race even though he won on him the last time? Are some trainers better on the grass than on the dirt? Which trainers have their horses ready to go each and every race and which ones tend to race them into shape? Which jockeys are better on the turf than dirt, and which have more of a knack for the wire in the longer distance races over the sprints?

When a trainer, jockey, or someone close to a thoroughbred racehorse has an opinion as to why a horse ran the way he did last time, we will post it.

We will let you know whenever we think trainers or jockeys are betting on their own horses. And if so, then that can provide powerful information as to the horses chances because if the connections feel confident enough to lay their own money on him, then the horse just might run better than the odds suggest.

Keep up on all the latest industry changes too: Is Hollywood Park going to remain open or will the upcoming meet be the last? Are the synthetic tracks that have been installed in all California race tracks helping to reduce injuries or are there more than ever before? And how do the jockeys and trainers feel about it? Will online wagering be available in your state soon if it is not already?

Are we finally going to get to see Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra race against each other, and what are their trainers thinking about it? Where will it take place, on natural dirt at Belmont or Saratoga, or will they face each other over a synthetic California surface? Who are those under the radar horses who everyone is talking about for the Kentucky Derby, but who haven’t quite made their presence known in a big way just yet?

Backstretch Chat is great because you can get all the inside angles to give you that extra edge you need over your fellow horse racing enthusiasts.
